Reflection of escarpment surrounding Kakadu National Park, Australia. As flood water recede from the park in the dry season, pools of water remain which often contain huge saltwater crocodiles. A billabong is considered likely to be croc-free if baited cage traps (which let rangers relocate them to the sea) remain empty for a few week. Nevertheless I set up my tripod on the water's edge with one eye on the camera and one looking for ripples on the surface...
